During the meeting with Mikhail Granovsky, the Art Director and Principal Conductor of the Tomsk Academic Symphony Orchestra, Sergey Zhvachkin, the Governor of the Tomsk region, decided to allocate 50 million rubles for the upcoming 75th anniversary of the Tomsk Regional State Philharmoniс and the Tomsk Academic Symphony Orchestra in 2021.

The head of the region discussed with Maitre Granovsky anniversary concerts that, apart from the Tomsk Symphony Orchestra, are planned to be attended by musicians of the Mariinsky Orchestra headed by Valery Gergiev and the world-famous pianist Denis Matsuev, as well as a number of other cultural events for residents of the region.

"I believe that our Symphony Orchestra should give concerts in Moscow and St. Petersburg in the anniversary year. But the main thing is to celebrate the 75th anniversary together with the residents of our region, in Tomsk and in our hinterland. We have revived orchestra concert tours in the districts of our region and will definitely continue them in the anniversary year. I hope that the epidemic situation next year will allow us to implement all our creative plans," said Sergey Zhvachkin, the Governor of the Tomsk region.

At the meeting, the Governor allocated 50 million rubles to purchase new musical instruments and renovate the stage of the Bolshoi Concert Hall of the Philharmonic.

"Epidemics come and go, but art and music are eternal!" said the Head of the region.

The Governor presented Mikhail Granovsky with an album of his photographs "The World Where I Live". Earlier, the Orchestra's Art Director gave the head of the region an album with photos of his grandfather Naum Granovsky, a famous photographer.
