By the decision of Sergey Zhvachkin, a multidisciplinary children's hospital will be built on Ivana Chernykh Street next to the Tomsk Regional Clinical Hospital. Engineering surveys and the design for the new medical facility must be completed By December 1, 2021.

It is planned that the new 550-bed hospital will have laboratory diagnostic, surgical and somatic units, as well as a counselling outpatient clinic for 250 visits per shift. Young patients, including those with cancer and cardiac diseases, can be treated here. The governor allocated 63 million rubles from the regional budget to prepare the design of the medical institution.

“The new, large children's hospital, where everything – from a polyclinic with narrow specialists to an inpatient department – is very much awaited by families with children, - said the governor of the Tomsk region Sergey Zhvachkin. – I know about it from the parents themselves, from the doctors. Being a father and grandfather himself, I perfectly understand how important it is to receive all medical care for a child in one place. The new medical facility will be just like that. The multidisciplinary children's hospital will become another object of the Northern Medical City, where today there are already a clinical hospital, a perinatal center, and a surgical building of the Oncology Center is being built."

Deputy Governor for Construction and Infrastructure Evgeniy Parshuto informed that a Volgograd company Giprosintez LLC won the tender for the design of the multidisciplinary children's hospital. The cost and terms of construction of the facility itself will be determined after engineering surveys and preparation of design and estimate documentation.
