The Region Will Allocate 12 mln. Rubles for Development of Inclusive Vocational Education

12,1 mln. rubles will be allocated to support inclusive vocational education in the Tomsk region within the framework of the program Accessible Environment in 2020.
The major part of the federal and regional budget funds will go to Tomsk Technical School of Social Technologies to purchase special training, rehabilitative equipment and computers and to equip workplaces in job training workshops and laboratories.
Due to the Accessible Environment program teachers of technical schools and vocational education institution will receive occupational retraining, job training and advanced training related to the inclusive education.
Currently, 440 physically challenged students are studying within the vocational training system in Tomsk. Over 50 graduates get employed according to the acquired profession every year.
Tomsk Technical School of Social Technologies is a basic vocational education institution where the inclusive professional program is implemented. Over 270 students with disabilities (71%) socialize and acquire a profession here.

In 2019, the Ministry of Education announced a competition for a subsidy for the establishment of basic vocational institutions providing support to the regional systems of inclusive vocational training of disabled people. 55 territorial entities of the Russian Federation took part therein. Funds have been allocated to 41 entities to support inclusive education. Tomsk Technical School of Social Technologies is implementing the program in the Tomsk region.
