Today, November 6, Sergey Zhvachkin, Governor of Tomsk region, opened the Siberian Olive rapeseed processing plant near the settlement of Svetly.

The new enterprise is part of the Siberian Premier agricultural holding, which is represented in the Tomsk region by such companies as Mezheninovskaya Poultry Factory, Mezheninovskaya agricultural company and the Mezheninovsky agricultural production cooperative. The investor invested 1.2 billion of own and credit funds in a modern production complex for processing oilseeds and grain crops.

At the opening of a new plant, the head of the region noted that in recent years, Tomsk agrarians actively grow rapeseed.

“Firstly, it is a unique culture that prevents weeds from growing, which means it improves the quality of land. Secondly, rapeseed oil has great export potential, because it is used in the food industry, in medicine, in cosmetology,” Sergey Zhvachkin, Governor of the Tomsk region, explained the benefits of oilseed. “You know that in the Tomsk region, we are betting on the production of not only raw materials, but also finished products. For this reason, we supported the investment project for the construction of a new production complex. ”

The new plant was shown to the head of the region by Fyodor Khaletskiy, Director of the Mezheninovskaya poultry farm. The design production capacity is 60 thousand tons of rapeseed per year. At the output, the enterprise will annually produce 22 thousand tons of rapeseed oil and 34 thousand tons of rapeseed meal. The products are export-oriented, as they are in great demand in China and other countries of South and East Asia.

Twenty percent of Siberian Olive’s products will be manufactured from its own raw materials, 40 percent - from raw materials of agricultural enterprises of the Tomsk region, the same amount will be supplied by enterprises of the Siberian Federal District.

“There is no other rapeseed plant in Russia with such technology, with such a level of automation,” said Tomsk Governor Sergey Zhvachkin. “The capacities of the new enterprise allow us to process raw materials not only of the holding enterprises, but also of third-party producers. This means new opportunities for agricultural enterprises of our region. Thanks to this project, we will significantly increase the export of agricultural products, replenish the budget of the enterprise, this area and, of course, the family budgets of seventy workers of the new plant”.
