Within the framework of the All-Russian Festival on Energy Saving and Ecology #ВместеЯрче (BrighterTogether), Gazprom Transgaz Tomsk and the Tomsk branch of Gazprom Gazomotornoye Toplivo LLC, with the support of the regional Department of Industry and Energy, held a presentation of an automobile gas-filling compressor station (AGFCS) in Vysotskiy Street in Tomsk.
Representatives of municipalities and motor transport enterprises were shown the operating principle of AGFCS, examples of natural gas fueled vehicles, and they also were informed of the economic benefits of using natural gas and a program to transfer vehicles to use it as motor fuel.
“The Administration of the Tomsk region and Gazprom Gazomotornoye Toplivo continue to work together to expand the gas filling network. Five automobile gas-filling compressor stations are already operating in the region. In the near future, construction of such stations is planned in the areas of Mikhailovskaya Grove, Mostovaya Street, and the Communal Bridge and in the Shegarskiy area,” said Igor Shaturny, Deputy Governor of the Tomsk region for Industrial Policy.
In the Tomsk region, compressed natural gas is used by more than 500 units of buses and road‑building and utility vehicles.
Natural gas is an economical, environmentally friendly and safe motor fuel. The cost of 1 km of a car running on natural gas is on average 2-3 times lower than that on traditional heavy fuels. In the Tomsk region, 1 cubic meter of natural gas, which is equivalent to 1 liter of gasoline, costs 15 rubles and 60 kopecks. When using natural gas, the emission of toxic substances into the environment is reduced by 10 times.
