Tomsk Governor invited the youth to rural settlements

Sergey Zhvachkin, Governor of the Tomsk region, addressed medical professionals and invited them to participate in programs “Rural Doctor” and “Rural paramedic”.
“In 2012, the Tomsk region launched programs “Rural Doctor” and “Rural paramedic”, moreover we began supporting young rural paramedics even before this program became federal,” said Sergey Zhvachkin, Governor of the Tomsk region. “These programs allowed us to significantly reduce the shortage of medical staff in rural settlements and attract truly involved young people to remote areas. Over the seven years, the number of rural doctors and rural paramedics grew to almost 800 people”.
“This year, young medical staff reinforced the personnel of hospitals in Aleksandrovo, Kolpashevo, Parabel, Pervomaiskoye, Bakchar and Tomsk areas. Until 2019, we can get employed over one hundred people under programs of Rural Doctor and Rural paramedic, and it is my pleasure to invite both Tomsk residents and residents of other regions to come and work in the Tomsk region,” the Governor said.
According to Vadim Boykov, Deputy Head of Healthcare Department of the Tomsk region, it is possible to employ 116 rural doctors and 17 paramedics under these programs by the end of 2019. Young specialists will enter into contract with the regional Healthcare Department, undertaking to work at least five years in the rural area. That being said, they will be paid resettlement benefits. The amount of one-time payment for a doctor is 1 million rubles, and for a paramedic it is 500 thousand rubles.
