Tomsk region teams won nine awards at the Russian stage of RoboCup

The Russian stage of RoboCup Russia Open 2019 ended in Tomsk, with 125 participating teams from Russia and Kazakhstan, 55 of which representing the Tomsk region.
After three days of competitions, Tomsk residents won nine awards in various leagues with over three thousands viewers having attended the event.
TUSUR teams dev/null, Victoria and Alpha won the entire podium in rescue robots league RoboCup Junior (RCJ) Rescue Simulation, where they had to develop all-purpose software for a virtual and a real robot.
In RCJ Rescue Maze league (movement in a labyrinth), the second place went to Clevers Team from the Tomsk Center for Career Planning, while Mad Mechanics from the Governor’s Svetly Vocational School took the third place.
In the open robot soccer league for juniors RCJ Soccer Open, team cpc.tomsk from the Tomsk Center for Career Planning won the third place. TUSUR’s Photon won the second place in the new junior soccer league for androids (RCJ Humanoid Soccer).
In the older (Major) group for androids Humanoid Kidsize Soccer, TSU’s team r-evolution won the second place, and Photon, the joint team of TUSUR and TSPU, won the third place.
The teams from the Tomsk region also won several special prizes. The team of Tomsk Physics and Technology Vocational School (TPTVS) won the Best technical journal prize in RCJ Rescue Maze league for rescue robots. TPTVS’s Enigma was awarded the Team spirit certificate in RCJ Soccer division. One Seversk team won the Creativity prize in RCJ OnStage robot show. Another Seversk team called Alternativa (School № 76) won the Best technical journal prize. Team Rocky of Oktyabrskaya School (Tomsk) received a special award in the OnStage league for Integration of Russian fairy tales in robotics, while team Robot dreams (Tomsk school Perspektiva) and team Advance (Seversk School № 83) won prizes for Best robot design.
The winning teams of the open Russian stage of RoboCup Russia Open 2019 will take part in the world finals in Australia, European tournament in Germany and the Asia-Pacific championship.
Apart from the main awards, the teams received special prizes from the sponsors: Micran, VTB Group and Research Center Polus. Heads of the companies, Vera Paramonova, Evgeniy Golubchikov and Mikhail Ratko awarded their own prizes for Promising development and the Best start-up. These awards went to the youngest participant from the Krasnoyarsk team, team Photon of TUSUR, and the team of Perspektiva School. During the closing ceremony, representatives of the sponsors announced the decision to establish regular prizes in these categories for the teams of RoboCup Russia Open.
RoboCup Russia Open is organized by TUSUR, Tomsk Region Administration, innovation cluster SMART Technologies Tomsk with the support from the Russian National RoboCup Committee.
