Thirty teams from all over Russia will compete in the Science Game finals at U-NOVUS – 2019 in Tomsk

Fifteen student teams and as many school teams have reached the finals of scientific team game Science Game arriving from all over Russia: Saint Petersburg, Kazan, Moscow, Ufa, Barnaul, Tomsk, Krasnodar and other cities. The finals take place on May 16 at U‑NOVUS –2019 forum in Tomsk in the form of a quest in the laboratories of four Tomsk universities (TPU, TSU, TUSUR, SSMU) and Tomsk Regional Institute for Further Training and Retraining of Educators, and the Quantorium.
The finalist teams include 15 school teams from Ushinskiy University preparatory school № 1 (Simferopol), Biysk vocational school, three teams from Vocational school under TPU (Tomsk), Vocational school № 6 (Kursk), School № 146 (Kazan), № 80 (Seversk), Vocational school № 153 (UFA), Kornilovo secondary school (Tomsk region), Seversk University preparatory school (Seversk), Vocational school № 124 (Barnaul), School of Mathematics and Physics (Tyumen), University preparatory school № 12 (Novosibirsk) and Boarding school № 7 (Volgograd).
The finalists also include 15 student teams: Perm National Research Polytechnic University, National Research Tomsk State University, Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, RAS St. Petersburg National Research Academic University, MISIS National University of Science and Technology, Siberian State Medical University, Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics, Boris Yeltsin Ural Federal University, Lomonosov Moscow State University, Ufa State Petroleum Technological University, Novosibirsk State University, Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia, Trubilin Kuban State Agrarian University, and two teams from the National Research Tomsk Polytechnic University.
“This year, the tests and experiments making up the quests at the Tomsk laboratories are aligned with NTI directions, as well as the entire game is. The quests will take place in 37 laboratories,” said Vitaliy Pokrovskiy, one of the organizers.
The elimination rounds of the Science Game welcomed 10,110 people from 892 localities, 2,553 schools and 542 universities of Russia. Schoolchildren and students were given problems to solve, corresponding to five NTI directions: TechNet, HealthNet, SafeNet, AeroNet, EnergyNet and cases to work on, related to future markets of the National Technological Initiative (NTI).
Forum of new solutions U-NOVUS – 2019 takes place in Tomsk on May 15-17 under the auspices of the Tomsk Region Administration. The Forum has partnered with Rosatom, SIBUR Holding, Gazprom neft, Gazprombank, Inter RAO, Rostelecom, Sberbank, Fund for infrastructure and education programs, and universities, including SkolTech, universities participating in the 5-100 project, and flagship universities.
U-NOVUS forum is a tool to setup the technological focus of the region. The living flow format of the forum (with its professionals, ideas and solutions) is a unique cultural and intellectual environment to develop the human capital of a new type. Some of the forum’s workshops are dedicated to digital transformations of corporations, while other strive to design pilot grounds for trying out solutions in new domains, such as smart city, digital power engineering, 5G networks, precision agriculture, platform-based solutions for banking and education.
