Today on August 24 in the Boling point, Tomsk medical specialists and their patients discussed again the declaration on patient-oriented healthcare and adopted the text modified to include the points of the region’s inhabitants.
We would like to remind that the draft of Russia’s first declaration on patient-oriented healthcare was presented to the residents of Tomsk on July 12. The residents introduced over one hundred points; all of them were taken into account.
Today’s discussion saw 200 doctors and patients, including the heads of medical institutions and public organizations.
“This declaration should be known to both doctors and patients, so that all of them would have the same rules of interaction. Today we will discuss the ways to implement the declaration and promote its principles,” said Ivan Deyev, Deputy Governor of the Tomsk region on social policy, in his opening speech.
Reports were made by Vadim Boykov, Deputy Head of Department of Healthcare, Vitaliy Grakhov, Chairman of the Medical Chamber of the Tomsk region, Elena Timoshina, Chief physician of the Regional children’s hospital, Svetlana Malakhova, Director of the Centre for medical and pharmaceutical information, Valeriya Skryabina, Director of the charity fund DIA-MIR.
For instance, the participants proposed to include the study of this declaration in the curriculum of SSMU and the Tomsk medical college.
“We should begin telling about the principles of this declaration as early as at school, and make it so that all the students, not only medical students, knew about it. To achieve this one could use health lessons, meetings of student clubs and other formats,” said Valeriya Skryabina, Director of the charity fund DIA-MIR that helps children suffering from diabetes and their families.
As a result, the declaration on patient-oriented healthcare was adopted with modifications.
