Tomsk Universities Improving Their QS Rating Positions

Quacquarelli Symonds Agency published its rating of the best universities in the world – QS World University Rankings 2019, one of the most reputed ratings in the academic community.
National Research Tomsk State University took the 277th place, having improved its last years result in the QS World University Rankings by 46 points right away. National Research Tomsk Polytechnic University moved by 13 positions over a year – up to the 373rd place.
There were six characteristics appraised in the rating: academic reputation, university reputation among employers, citation index of scientific publications, professors-students ratio, share of foreign students and professors.
In total, the rating includes 1011 universities, 27 of which represent the Russian Federation and 17 of them are a part of the federal project “5-100”.
Sergey Zhvachkin, Governor of the Tomsk region, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the NR TPU and member of the Supervisory Board of NR TSU, sent his congratulations on major international success to the staff members of the universities.
